Davos 2026: UAE to Set Up Major Food Cluster in Andhra Pradesh
CM Chandrababu Naidu secures UAE backing for food processing, port terminals, and renewable energy during World Economic Forum meet
Amaravati, Jan 20: During the 2026 World Economic Forum in Davos, UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri agreed with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu to establish a food cluster in the state, marking a major boost for its food processing sector. The UAE minister also pledged support for 40 companies to set up operations in Andhra Pradesh.
The discussions between Naidu and Al Marri focused on strengthening financial and industrial partnerships. Naidu highlighted investment prospects in food security, logistics, port-related industries, renewable energy, urban development, tourism, and infrastructure.
Key agreements included UAE based Sharaaf Group developing a multi-modal logistics park, the establishment of a modern construction unit using light gauge steel framing in Amaravati, and collaboration between Andhra Pradesh and DP World to develop large-scale port terminals and logistics facilities. Additionally, talks covered Abu Dhabi National Oil Company’s plan to set up a floating storage and regasification unit in the state.
Naidu emphasized that these strategic partnerships with the UAE would enhance industries, create jobs, and boost exports from Andhra Pradesh. The Chief Minister is on a four-day Switzerland tour to promote the state and attract global investments.
