DC Baramulla Orders Strict Enforcement of NDPS Act
Officers urged to ensure timely case disposal and enhanced inter-departmental coordination in tackling narcotics in the district.
Baramulla, Sept 16: DC Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, chaired a District Level Committee (DLC) meeting on NDPS cases and directed officers for strict enforcement of the NDPS Act, timely disposal of cases, and stronger inter-departmental coordination to combat the drug menace.
During the meeting, officers from the concerned departments briefed the chair on the status of NDPS cases in the district. DC Sherpa emphasized strict implementation of the law to curb drug trafficking and substance abuse.
He also instructed officers to ensure timely disposal of cases in accordance with legal provisions and highlighted the importance of close coordination among enforcement agencies for effective action against narcotics.
To further strengthen enforcement at the grassroots level, DC Sherpa announced a session next week with all Executive Magistrates on the NDPS Act.
The meeting was attended by ASP Baramulla, DySP Sopore, officers from Prosecution, and other concerned officials.
