DC Jammu reviews progress of Languishing projects, status of Covid vaccination

 JAMMU, APRIL 14: Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Anshul Garg today chaired marathon meetings to review the status of the languishing projects, status of Covid vaccination, and to discuss and resolve the issues for smooth construction of IIM, Jammu.

In the meeting regarding languishing projects, the Deputy Commissioner took a scheme-wise physical and financial review of progress on projects undertaken by different departments.

During the meeting, the concerned officers informed the DDC about the present status of all languishing projects under execution. The meeting also discussed the challenges faced by the Departments in the implementation of certain projects.

The DC asked the concerned officers to further gear up men and machinery for quality and timely completion of these development projects.

In another meeting convened to review the progress of the immunization program, the Deputy Commissioner directed officers to intensify the vaccination process to achieve 100% immunization

While expressing serious concern over the slow progress of vaccination in some areas, the DC reiterated that apart from executing proactive measures, mobilization of all resources and manpower shall be put on ready gear to enable the Administration to tackle any emergencies arising from the Covid-19 pandemic.

Anshul Garg called for raising awareness among the masses to persuade the people, especially those above 45 Years to go for vaccination. He called for roping in PRIs, Asha Workers, and other influencers to motivate the eligible persons for vaccination.

Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner chaired a meeting to resolve the issues being faced in the smooth construction of IIM, Jammu in the district.

 The Chair was appraised about certain issues including shifting of 33 KVA line passing through IIM land, service road from National Highway, water supply, scarcity of material, and alternate road and boundary wall.

The DC was informed that works related to the boundary wall would be completed in May 2021, while the proposal has been made regarding the shifting of water utilities on the campus.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned departments to prepare the estimated cost for the shifting of public utilities hindering the execution and furnish the same to the executing agencies.

ADC (Adm.) Satish Kumar Sharma, Chief Planning Officer, Yoginder Katoch besides concerned officers from EM&RE Circle, PWD(R&B), System and Operations, Sewerage and Drainage, Mubarak Mandi Heritage Society, PHE, PWD, JPDCL, NHAI, PMGSY, CPWD, SICOP were present in their respective meetings.
