DC kishtwar administers oath to newly elected Vice President MC kishtwar

16-01-2021: Deputy commissioner Kishtwar Ashok Sharma today administered the oath of allegiance to newly elected Vice President Municipal Council Kishtwar Mr. Sanjeet Kumar Kotwal in presence of all the members of MC here at conference Hall, New DC office Kishtwar.

Joint Director Planning Mohd Iqbal, President MC Kishtwar Riyaz Ahmed Zargar, Assistant Labour Commissioner Kishtwar Anoop Kumar, EO Municipal Council Kishtwar Tariq Balwan besides other officers and officials remained present on the occasion.

Pertinent to mention here that due to the resignation of the Firdous Ahmed Mingnoo from the post of Vice President MC kishtwar, the post of VP was lying vacant and the fresh elections were held on 25-08-2020, where Sanjeet Kumar Kotwal was elected as new vice president and today he was administered the oath of allegiance by DC kishtwar.

Speaking during the ceremony, DC said that the elected representatives of Local  Urban Bodies and Panchayats have a great role in resolving issues of development and progress of the common masses. He said the purpose of the decentralization of powers is to bring governance at the doorsteps of people.

He sought the cooperation of these members in the process of development of Kishtwar town.

President MC Kishtwar also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the role and responsibility of the elected members of the local urban body beside he also appreciated the role of DC kishtwar in resolving the issue of identifying land for solid waste management plant and the slaughterhouse in the Kishtwar besides for giving impetus to various languishing projects by taking stringent actions against the executing agencies for their sluggish performance.
