REASI MARCH 05:- Deputy Commissioner Reasi Babila Rakwal today convened an introductory cum review meeting with the President MC Katra, Councillors & President Hotel association Katra.
President Municipal Committee Katra apprised the DC about the problems and issues being faced by the Council.
The Councillors also briefed the Deputy Commissioner regarding the problems faced by the general public of their respective wards.
The MC Councillors demanded restoration of damages caused to water installations due to recent incessant rain, augmentation of patient care facilities in CHC Katra, speeding up of tendering process by the Executing Departments, improvement of sanitation and provision of parking facility in the town.
The Deputy Commissioner gave a patient hearing and assured that a robust and people friendly mechanism will be put in place in a time bound manner to improve essential services in the township.
Stressing on further improvement in the public delivery system, she directed the officers to put special thrust on essential services departments like Jal Shakti Department, Health, PDD and Education to evolve a public friendly environment for timely disposal of public grievances.
Highlighting the importance of sanitation and beautification of the town, Babila Rakwal directed Chief Executive Officer, Municipal Committee, Katra to ensure close check on illegal construction in and around the vicinity of town. She further asked for putting in extra efforts for early completion of the Solid Waste Management Plant for disposal of town garbage in a scientific way.
Chairman Municipal Committee Vimal Indu, SDM Katra Angrez Singh, ASP Katra Amit Bhasin, Inspector MC Nitin, XEN R&B, besides other district officers were present on the occasion.
Later on, a delegation of Hotels, Restaurants and Bar Association met Babila Rakwal Deputy Commissioner .
The delegation spoke at length with DC and appreciated how proactively the Government is taking due measures to ensure the virus does not spread and made a few suggestions so that businesses can continue and precautionary measures are taken side by side.
The DC gave a patient hearing and said they are reviewing the situation and keeping a close watch so that the virus does not spread and will take a decision as soon as they feel the situation is under control.
