DC Reasi reviews progress of Migratory Tribal population survey

“2000 families surveyed in 10 days across nine Tehsils”

REASI, JULY 10: To review the progress of field Survey of Tribal nomadic Migratory population Deputy Commissioner, Reasi Charandeep Singh today chaired a review meeting of  Tehsildars, supervisors including members of various teams deputed in different areas of the district.

The meeting was attended by ADDC, Jyoti Slathia, DSWO Gulshan Kumar, CEO, DSEO, besides others were also present through virtual mode.

During the online interaction, Teams deputed at the ground level interacted with DC and apprised him about the progress of the ongoing Tribal survey in the District.

The DC inquired about the progress of the ongoing survey that started on  July 1 and took feedback from the concerned Tehsildars and supervisors about the issues and demands of the Tribal population.

The DC asked the concerned officers to activate men and machinery for effective implementation of the survey on the ground. He exhorted upon the officers to work in coordination and motivate the Enumeration teams so that no one is left out in the survey.

The DC directed Tehsildars, Supervisors, enumerators to aware tribes about the benefit of the Survey for ensuring their active participation including consulting PRIs in the identification of potential areas/ highland pastures/destinations where nomadic tribes may be available at this point of time.

Further, he directed the concerned Tehsildars to prepare an analytical abstract of whole data including Dhok details, a compilation of family data age-wise, qualification-wise and occupation-wise, livestock details, route details, etc which will help in better planning ensuring their uplift.

He stressed on promotion of local art and craft by conducting a host of studies on tribal culture, art, languages, traditional practices, livelihood measures, education, and socio-economic conditions.
