DC Udhampur Indu Kanwal Chib listens to people’s issues at Moungri
Orders action against Contractor for delaying construction work
UDHAMPUR, MARCH-31:- Deputy Commissioner, Udhampur Indu Kanwal Chib today visited Block Moungri and listened to public issues during the weekly Block Diwas meeting.
The BDC Chairperson, Bimla Devi, DDC member, Jasvir Singh, District Officers of various departments and PRIs of concerned panchayats, and around 500 locals participated in the Block Diwas.
They projected several demands and problems being faced by them and demanded adequate staff in Health and Education institutions, Establishment of Block level Offices, Electrification of un-electrified areas, New Ambulance facility for local PHCs, Macadamization of Kainth Gali to Moungri road, Block topping of Moungri to Ajal road, Blacktopping of Panjar to Saddal road, Blacktopping of Kainth Gali to Ladda, besides improvement in power supply scenario.
While interacting with the public, the DC said that the main objective of this programme is to take a firsthand appraisal of important issues at the grassroots level. She said that such platforms enable District administration to know the multifaceted problems being faced by the public which in turn help devise appropriate strategy through prioritization and optimum utilization of resources for redressing issues through converged efforts.
Many grievances were redressed on the spot by DC through the intervention of officers of concerned departments. She assured that the rest of the demands will be redressed on priority by mobilizing resources. The DC directed the officers to work with missionary zeal to meet and address the genuine demands of the Public.
Responding to the road connectivity demands, the DC expressed anguish over the slow pace of work on PMGSY roads, especially Kainthgali to Moungri road. She directed the PMGSY wing to expedite the progress to complete the project without further delay. The contractor was pulled up for laxity and an FIR is being registered. The DC gave a deadline to PMGSY Department for blacktopping of Kainth Gali to Moungri road by the 15th of April 2021.
The Dy CEO was directed to submit the list of all teachers posted in other places but drawing their salary from schools of this zone. The PWD department was asked to organize camps for the registration of D-Class contractor cards for ensuring the participation of a maximum number of bidders in the e-tendering process which would generate employment and ensure transparency.
To explore the possibility of tourism in the area, the DC asked Forest and Tourism Department to submit photographs of heritage and other places with the help of PRIs.
The DC also met scores of delegations at Panjjar and Kainthgali and gave an extended hearing to their issues.
Similar hearings were also organized at different blocks of District Udhampur wherein a large number of PRIs and the general public interacted with the designated officers and apprised them about the local issues and demands of their respective areas.
Block diwas meetings were also held at Majalta, Dudu Basantgarh, Ramnagar, and Chenani.
