Delhi Airport NOTAM Disrupts Air Traffic, Three Srinagar Flights Cancelled

Temporary airspace and operational restrictions in the national capital disrupt flight services to and from Srinagar

Srinagar, Jan 19: Flight operations to and from Srinagar airport were disrupted on Sunday after three services were cancelled following the issuance of a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) at Delhi airport in connection with Republic Day preparations, officials said.

According to Srinagar airport authorities, the cancellations were carried out by the respective airlines due to airspace and operational restrictions imposed at Delhi airport. The curbs are part of heightened security and logistical arrangements ahead of the January 26 celebrations.

In view of the disruption, airport authorities issued a passenger advisory urging travellers to verify the latest flight status with their airlines before arriving at the airport. Passengers were also advised to stay in touch with airlines regarding rescheduling options or refund procedures.

“We regret the inconvenience caused to passengers,” airport officials said, adding that the cancellations are temporary and directly linked to the NOTAM issued at Delhi airport.

Authorities expect flight operations to normalise once the Republic Day-related restrictions are lifted.
