Delhi Police Marks 79th Raising Day, Amit Shah Graces Event as Chief Guest

Delhi Police Raising Day was commemorated with full ceremonial honours

New Delhi, Feb 16: The Delhi Police Raising Day was commemorated with full ceremonial honours on Monday as Union Home Minister Amit Shah attended as chief guest and reviewed the annual parade in the national capital.

The event featured an impressive march past by the force’s top performing contingents, including the SWAT team, dog squad, band unit, motorcycle riders, PCR units and other specialised wings, highlighting operational readiness and coordination.

Welcoming the dignitary, Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golchha affirmed that the force remains fully equipped to handle emerging challenges in the city. He outlined key priorities such as advancing the vision of a drug-free India, countering cyberterror threats and dismantling organised crime syndicates.

The Commissioner revealed that nine gangsters were neutralised in encounters this year, while the Special Cell, in coordination with central agencies, is tracking 32 fugitives operating from overseas.

Senior officials and personnel participated in the ceremony, underscoring the force’s commitment to safeguarding the capital.
