Delhi University Opens UG Admission Portal, CUET Scores to Decide 2026 Intake

CSAS registration begins as thousands of aspirants prepare for seat allocation under the CUET-based admission process.

New Delhi, June 28: The University of Delhi has officially launched the undergraduate admission process for the 2026-27 academic session through its Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS), marking the beginning of one of the country’s largest university admission exercises. With admissions based entirely on CUET-UG 2026 scores, lakhs of students from across India have started registering on the online portal to compete for seats in the university’s prestigious colleges.

The opening of the admission portal comes shortly after the declaration of CUET-UG 2026 results by the National Testing Agency (NTA), allowing eligible candidates to begin the next stage of the admission process.

University officials stated that applicants must first complete registration on the CSAS portal, upload the required academic documents, verify personal information and pay the prescribed application fee before submitting their preferred programme and college combinations.

Admissions this year will continue to be conducted in multiple phases, beginning with registration, followed by preference filling, simulated ranks, seat allotment, acceptance of allocated seats, document verification by colleges and payment of admission fees.

Officials advised candidates to carefully fill in their programme and college preferences, as these choices will play a significant role in determining seat allocation based on CUET scores and category reservations.

Students who fail to secure their preferred college in the initial rounds will have the option to upgrade their allocated seats in subsequent rounds. The university has also announced that spot admission rounds will be conducted later if vacancies remain after the regular counselling process.

Education experts noted that the CUET-based admission model has made the admission process more transparent by introducing a common national entrance examination instead of relying solely on Class 12 board examination marks.

Delhi University offers undergraduate programmes in arts, commerce, science, social sciences, management, languages and vocational studies through its constituent colleges, attracting students from every state and Union Territory.

University authorities have advised applicants to regularly monitor official notifications regarding seat allocation schedules, correction windows, document verification and counselling deadlines to avoid missing important updates.

Candidates have also been reminded to keep original educational certificates, category documents, identity proof and passport size photographs ready for verification during the admission process.

With thousands of seats available across dozens of colleges, the admission exercise is expected to continue through multiple counselling rounds over the coming weeks before the academic session begins.

Officials reiterated that admissions will be granted strictly on the basis of CUET-UG performance, reservation policies and candidate preferences submitted through the CSAS portal, ensuring a standardised and merit-based selection process across the university.
