Delhi University Revises PG History Syllabus, Drops Delhi Sultanate Paper

NEW DELHI, Aug 14: Delhi University has revised its postgraduate History syllabus, removing the Delhi Sultanate paper from the third semester along with several other long-standing courses, according to reports.
The changes come as the university updates its academic curriculum and restructures the papers offered to postgraduate students. The revision has drawn attention because the Delhi Sultanate was previously included as a dedicated component of the History programme.
The revised curriculum is expected to alter the way students encounter different periods and themes of Indian history during their postgraduate studies. The changes are part of the university’s ongoing process of reviewing academic content and course structures.
Curriculum revisions at universities often involve reorganising papers, introducing new areas of study and removing or merging existing courses to reflect changing academic priorities.

Delhi University has been undertaking several academic changes during the 2026-27 admission cycle, including undergraduate seat allocations under sports and extracurricular activity quotas and the first round of allocations under its Integrated Teacher Education Programme.
