DG Horticulture Ajaz Ahmad Bhat conducts extensive tour of Anantnag

SRINAGAR, NOVEMBER 14: The Director General (DG) Horticulture, Kashmir, Ajaz Ahmad Bhat today extensively toured District Anantnag.

During the visit, the DG inspected various farms and nurseries of the department particularly Lehniwan, Vailoo Kokernag, Bijbehara, etc. He took stock of various nursery operations like hoeing, weeding, pruning, etc., and appreciated the efforts put forth by the staff.

Bhat instructed the staff to speed up the pruning, hoeing, and other nursery operations in the departmental Nurseries/Orchards and focus on orchard sanitation and production of quality planting material. He further advised the field functionaries of the Department to reach out to common orchardists and provide them technical know-how particularly about pruning, training of fruit plants, and the importance of orchard sanitation.

Later, the DG visited the far-flung village of MatiGavran to offer condolences to the grieved family of Abdul Gani Khanday working in the department as a Horticulture Technician who died due to a sudden heart attack early this morning today. He also offered Nimaz e Jinaza of the diseased employee.

The DG assured the family members of the deceased employee of possible help.
