Digital Health Drive Crosses 25 Crore OPD Registration Milestone
Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission’s Scan and Register service helps patients avoid queues at hospital counters
NEW DELHI, Aug 8: India’s digital healthcare system has recorded a major milestone, with more than 25 crore outpatient department registrations completed through the ‘Scan and Register’ service under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission.
The QR-code based facility allows patients to register for outpatient services digitally using their Ayushman Bharat Health Account, reducing the need to wait at conventional registration counters.
Nearly four lakh people are now using the service every day, reflecting the growing adoption of technology-enabled healthcare services across the country.
The initiative is designed to simplify hospital visits by enabling patients to complete registration through a digital process before accessing OPD services.
The growing use of the facility also highlights the expanding role of digital infrastructure in improving patient convenience and streamlining hospital administration.
The milestone forms part of India’s broader efforts to build an interconnected digital health ecosystem under the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission.
Through digital health accounts and related services, the programme aims to facilitate easier access to healthcare information and services while supporting greater efficiency across healthcare facilities.
