Director H&H reviews functioning of craft clusters launched under JTFRP

SRINAGAR, JANUARY 23: Director Handicrafts & Handlooms, Mehmood Ahmad Shah, today convened a review meeting of the functioning of four craft clusters undertaken under the World Bank-sponsored Jhelum Tawi Flood Recovery Project (JTFRP).

He visited the Handicraft clusters of Crewel-Chain Stitch and Paper Mache functioning at Noorbagh and Zadibal respectively to have first-hand information regarding the functioning of these two vital business units.

Director was informed that both the clusters have registered a Producer Company with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Government of India so as to ensure the ownership to each artisan associated with the craft in the clusters besides ensuring long-lasting sustenance of the project.

During the visit, he interacted with the artisans linked with the clusters and had their feedback and suggestions.
