District Samba Taekwondo Championships 2025-26 Kick Off with Enthusiasm at Indoor Stadium Samba

Samba, November 3, 2025 — The District Samba Taekwondo Championships 2025-26 commenced today with great enthusiasm and participation at the Indoor Stadium, Samba. The event is being organized by the Taekwondo Association of District Samba under the aegis of the J&K Taekwondo Association (JKTA) and the J&K Sports Council (JKSC).

The opening ceremony was graced by Sh. Keshav Dutt Sharma, Chairman DDC Samba, who served as the Chief Guest for the occasion. The ceremony also witnessed the presence of Sh. Vikas Sambyal, Senior Vice President, District Samba BJP, and Sh. Balbir Mehta, Manager, Indoor Sports Complex Samba, as Guests of Honour.

In his address, the Chief Guest appreciated the efforts of the organizers in promoting Taekwondo at the grassroots level and motivating young athletes to pursue excellence in sports. He emphasized the importance of discipline, hard work, and sportsmanship as key values that Taekwondo instills in its practitioners.

The championship is being led by Sh. Rajesh Pangotra (President, Taekwondo Association of District Samba) and Dr. Kanav Mahajan (Secretary, Taekwondo Association of District Samba). Mr. Burhan Ud Din Khan (Executive Member, JKTA) attended the event as the Observer appointed by the J&K Taekwondo Association.

The President of the Taekwondo Association of District Samba expressed sincere gratitude to the Secretary of the J&K Sports Council for their continued support and encouragement, which have been instrumental in promoting Taekwondo and nurturing young talent across the Union Territory.

The two-day championship will feature athletes from various schools and clubs competing across multiple categories, showcasing skill, determination, and the true spirit of Taekwondo.
