Reviews Covid-19 protocol measures at Lakhanpur corridor

KATHUA, FEBRUARY 22: Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Sanjeev Verma today visited the Lakhanpur corridor to review the arrangements put in place for the travelers entering UT as per Covid-19 protocols.

Deputy Commissioner, Kathua Om Prakash, DC State Taxes Department Ranjeet Singh accompanied the Divisional Commissioner during the visit.

While reviewing the arrangements, Sanjeev Verma directed the Deputy Commissioner to keep an extra vigil on travelers coming from the states which reported a surge in Covid-19 cases in the last few days. He directed authorities to keep adequate human resources ready to meet out any contingency.

The Divisional Commissioner also took stock of the construction work of Agriculture Procurement Centre, Bhagthali which is coming up with an estimated cost of Rs 70 Lakh. He directed the executing agency PWD to complete the work before 31st March 2021.

The Divisional Commissioner paid a visit to Government Medical College, Kathua. He inspected different sections of the college building and inquired about the Medicare facilities.

Principal GMC, Dr. Anjali Nadir Bhat apprised Divisional Commissioner that the main building and boys hostel of the college has been handed over to the college authorities where classes for two batches of MBBS are currently going on.

While inspecting the under-construction areas of the college, the Div Com directed PWD authorities to complete the work at the earliest.
