Dogra Law College organises an Extension Lecture
30-01-2023 : An Extension Lectureby Hon’ble Justice Bansi Lal Bhat (Retd.), Former Judge J&K High Court and Ex-Chairman, National Company Law Appellate Tribunalwas organized on 30th January 2023 at Dogra Law College Auditorium on the topic “Administrative Law and Democracy.” The programme started with the welcome address by Ms. Parema Bakshi (Faculty of Dogra Law College). She outlined the various achievements and contribution of Hon’ble Justice for the development of competition law and insolvency jurisprudence.
Ms. Shuchi Sharma, Principal Incharge, Dogra Law College presented sapling to the Hon’ble guest. Prof. V.P. Magotra, Principal Dogra Law College gave a brief introduction about the Dogra Law College andinfrastructure including facilities available at the Dogra Law College.
Hon’ble Justice Bansi Lal Bhat (Retd.) in his lecturestated that the administrative law is concerned to build a nation through the application of speedy justice. He stressed that administrative law upholds the will of the people by the inclusion of democratic spirit in the functioning of the government. He also highlighted that administrative law makes sure that rule of law is upheld while performing governmental functions.
The programme continued with the interactive session with the students in which students put some questions on the practicality of administrative law in the administration of justice and nation building.
Th. Gulchain Singh Charak, Chairman, Dogra Educational Trustin his presidential remarks emphasized the role of various administrative agencies in imparting justice.
Prominent among those who were present on the occasion were Kr. Samar Dev Singh Charak, Secretary, Dogra Educational Trust, Prof. Darshana Sharma, Director, Dogra Group of Colleges and Campus Development and faculty of Dogra Law College. Mr. Danish Tak, B.A.LL.B 5year Semester 3rd student conducted the proceedings of the event.
The programme concluded with the vote of Thanks presented by Ms. Sumiksha Razdan, Senior Faculty of Law followed by National Anthem.
