Donald Trump Claims US to Declare ‘Total Victory’ Over Iran in Two Weeks
Former US President says Tehran is ready for major concessions as nuclear negotiations continue, but no agreement has been reached yet
US, June 09 : US President Donald Trump has suggested that the United States could achieve what he described as a “total victory” over Iran within the next two weeks, linking the claim to ongoing diplomatic negotiations between Washington and Tehran.
Speaking at a tele rally for South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham ahead of a primary contest, Trump said Iranian officials were actively engaging in talks and were prepared to make significant compromises in pursuit of a deal.
“They want to make a very good deal. They’re willing to give us everything, they’re willing to give us no nuclear weapon,” Trump said, describing the discussions as still underway.
He added that he believed progress was being made and predicted a decisive outcome soon. “You’re really going to win it over the next two weeks when we declare total victory, it’ll be a total victory, it’ll happen very soon,” he said, also forecasting a drop in global oil prices following any breakthrough.
However, Trump did not clarify what form such a “victory” would take or provide details on the framework of a potential agreement.
The remarks come as discussions continue over Iran’s nuclear programme, with the administration maintaining that talks are advancing but no final deal has been announced.
Trump also repeated earlier claims that Iran is under pressure to accept terms it had previously resisted, saying internal constraints would eventually push Tehran toward agreement.
In a separate interview, he defended the pace of negotiations, suggesting that Iran’s leadership needed time due to political considerations, despite ongoing diplomatic momentum.
The comments add to uncertainty around the timeline and substance of US–Iran negotiations, even as both sides continue to signal engagement.
