Dr. Bharat Bhushan Releases Rs 1.57 Crore for Key Development Works Across Kathua Constituency
Dr. Bharat Bhushan Authorizes 58 Development Works to Strengthen Basic Infrastructure Across Kathua
KATHUA, 08-07-2026: Member Legislative Assembly Kathua, Dr. Bharat Bhushan, has authorized the release of Rs 1.57 crore from the Constituency Development Fund for carrying out various developmental works across Kathua Constituency during the current financial year.
As per a statement, the released amount will be utilized for the execution of important public works identified on the basis of local requirements and developmental priorities. The sanctioned works include construction of nine dwelling units for families affected by floods, installation of twelve deep bore wells, eight protection works, thirteen works related to lanes, drains and roads, one irrigation-related work and one work for construction of the entry gate of Dhian Chand Memorial Stadium at Lakhanpur.
The statement further said that the funds have been authorized only after proper verification, technical assessment and estimation of each work by the concerned departments. This has been done to ensure transparency, accountability and judicious utilization of public funds.
With the latest release of Rs 1.57 crore, the total amount authorized by MLA Kathua from the Constituency Development Fund during the current financial year has reached Rs 2.57 crore. Earlier, an amount of Rs 1 crore had been released for the execution of fifteen works of different nature in the constituency.
So far, a total of 58 developmental works have been authorized for execution out of the Constituency Development Fund of MLA Kathua. These works are expected to strengthen basic infrastructure and address long-pending public demands in different areas of the constituency.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Bharat Bhushan said that the execution of these works would provide much-needed relief to the people of Kathua Constituency, particularly in areas affected by the August 2025 floods. He said that priority has been given to works having direct public utility, including drinking water facilities, protection measures, road connectivity, drainage improvement and rehabilitation support for flood-affected families.
Dr. Bharat Bhushan further said that development works would continue to be taken up in a phased and need-based manner so that every area of the constituency receives due attention. He reaffirmed his commitment to ensure balanced development, better civic facilities and timely execution of works for the welfare of the people.
