Dr Minu Mahajan reappointed JKBOPEE Chairperson for two more years

J&K Government extends Dr Minu Mahajan’s JKBOPEE tenure

JAMMU, Mar 16: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has reappointed Dr Minu Mahajan as Chairperson of the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examination for a further period of two years, reaffirming continuity in the leadership of the body responsible for conducting professional entrance examinations in the Union Territory. The reappointment was made through an official notification issued by the General Administration Department.

According to the notification, the reappointment has been made under the provisions of the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examination Act, 2002. The order specifically invokes sub-section (1) of Section 4 read with Section 6 of the Act, providing the legal basis for the Government’s decision to extend her tenure.

Dr Minu Mahajan, a retired Principal, will continue as Chairperson for another two years. One public report citing the notification states that the fresh term is effective from March 19, 2026, or until she attains the age of 65 years, whichever is earlier.

The decision assumes significance as JKBOPEE plays a central role in regulating admissions to professional courses across Jammu and Kashmir, including entrance-based selections for medical, engineering and other professional programmes. Her reappointment is likely to be viewed as an effort to maintain administrative continuity in an institution that directly impacts thousands of students and aspirants every year.
