MUMBAI, Nov 1: Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam 3: The Conclusion has continued its impressive theatrical performance, crossing Rs 582 crore in worldwide gross collections after completing 30 days in cinemas.
The crime thriller, which has maintained a strong presence at the box office since its release, has accumulated Rs 375.60 crore in domestic net collections, while its India gross earnings have reached Rs 449.84 crore.
According to industry estimates, the film collected Rs 1.60 crore net in India on Saturday, October 31, marking a 60 per cent improvement over its previous day’s earnings of Rs 1 crore.
Its overseas gross collection has reached Rs 132.55 crore, taking the worldwide total to Rs 582.39 crore.
The latest figures indicate that the film continues to attract audiences even after completing a month-long theatrical run, strengthening the position of the Drishyam franchise among successful Hindi crime thrillers.
Saturday collections show improvement
The film recorded a noticeable increase in earnings on its 30th day, despite entering its fifth week in theatres.
After collecting Rs 1 crore on Friday, the Ajay Devgn-starrer added another Rs 1.60 crore on Saturday. The improvement came amid competition from other theatrical releases and the availability of entertainment options across digital platforms.
According to figures compiled by Sacnilk, the film had 3,030 shows across India on Saturday, with approximately 79,067 tickets sold during the day.
Its cumulative ticket sales have reached more than 1.63 crore since its theatrical release.
The Hindi 2D version recorded an overall occupancy rate of 17.36 per cent on Saturday. Morning screenings registered 8.83 per cent occupancy, while afternoon shows recorded 17.42 per cent.
The occupancy improved during the evening and night screenings, reaching 19.83 per cent and 20.67 per cent, respectively.
The stronger turnout during later screenings indicates that the film continues to attract viewers, particularly during convenient evening and night show timings.
Strong opening establishes box-office momentum
Drishyam 3: The Conclusion began its theatrical journey with a strong opening week, collecting Rs 245.50 crore net in India.
Its first-week India gross collection stood at Rs 294.60 crore, establishing a substantial initial lead.
However, the film witnessed a gradual decline in daily earnings as its theatrical run progressed.
During the second week, it collected Rs 87.50 crore net, registering a decline of approximately 64.4 per cent compared with the opening week.
The third week contributed another Rs 28.85 crore net, while collections fell by around 67 per cent during that period.
In its fourth week, the film added Rs 11.15 crore net to its domestic total.
The first two days of its fifth week contributed Rs 2.60 crore net, taking the cumulative domestic collection beyond Rs 375 crore.
Although the weekly figures indicate a natural slowdown after a powerful opening, the film’s overall performance has remained significant.
Its ability to maintain theatrical business over several weeks has helped it build a considerable lead over the previous instalment.
Nearly doubles ‘Drishyam 2’ collections
One of the most notable aspects of the latest box-office figures is the difference between the performances of Drishyam 3 and its predecessor.
At the same stage of their theatrical runs, Drishyam 2 had collected Rs 218.79 crore net in India.
In comparison, the third instalment has earned Rs 375.60 crore net over its first 30 days.
The figures place the latest film significantly ahead of the previous chapter, highlighting the commercial growth of the franchise.
The comparison also reflects the popularity of Vijay Salgaonkar’s character among audiences, who have followed his attempts to protect his family from the consequences of a crime.
The Drishyam series has developed a strong identity through its combination of suspense, family drama, investigation and psychological storytelling.
Unlike conventional action-oriented thrillers, the films have relied heavily on carefully constructed plots, unexpected developments and the central character’s ability to stay ahead of investigating authorities.
The latest instalment has continued this narrative approach while introducing fresh challenges for the protagonist.
What makes the third instalment different?
The story of Drishyam 3: The Conclusion follows Vijay Salgaonkar several years after he successfully managed to evade the law and protect his family.
However, the past returns to challenge the carefully constructed life he has built.
Meera Deshmukh re-enters the story with a different motivation. Rather than simply pursuing justice, she is driven by revenge, bringing a new dimension to the conflict.
Vijay also faces pressure from a powerful Crime Branch officer whose investigation threatens to expose weaknesses in his carefully prepared alibis.
The central conflict revolves around whether Vijay can once again protect his family while staying ahead of the investigation.
The film builds upon the suspense established by its earlier chapters, exploring the psychological consequences of past actions and the lengths to which a person may go to protect loved ones.
The storyline has also allowed the franchise to revisit familiar characters while introducing new complications.
Ajay Devgn’s role remains central
Ajay Devgn’s portrayal of Vijay Salgaonkar continues to be central to the identity of the franchise.
The character is different from the conventional heroic roles frequently associated with commercial Hindi cinema.
Vijay is presented as an ordinary family man who uses intelligence, patience and careful planning to overcome difficult circumstances.
His ability to anticipate investigative moves and construct convincing explanations forms the foundation of the series.
The latest film places him in another challenging situation, testing both his personal relationships and his ability to remain in control.
The character’s popularity has helped establish a strong emotional connection with audiences, particularly viewers who have followed the franchise from its earlier instalments.
The third chapter also carries the responsibility of delivering a satisfying continuation to a story that has developed a loyal following.
The franchise’s continued popularity
The commercial performance of Drishyam 3 highlights the continuing appeal of suspense-driven cinema in the Indian film market.
Crime thrillers have traditionally attracted audiences through mystery, unexpected revelations and complex characters.
The Drishyam franchise has successfully combined these elements with family-oriented storytelling, allowing it to appeal to a wider section of moviegoers.
Its central premise also creates an unusual relationship between the audience and the protagonist, as viewers are aware of the crime and become involved in understanding how the character attempts to escape its consequences.
This narrative structure has remained one of the defining features of the series.
The latest instalment has benefited from the established popularity of the franchise, the recognition of its lead actor and audience interest in discovering how Vijay Salgaonkar’s story develops.
Box-office performance strengthens its position
With worldwide gross earnings of Rs 582.39 crore, the film has established itself as a major commercial success.
Its domestic net collection of Rs 375.60 crore demonstrates the strength of its performance in the Indian theatrical market, while overseas earnings have added substantially to its overall total.
Although daily collections have declined from the opening-week levels, the film’s 30-day performance indicates sustained audience interest.
The latest figures also underline the commercial potential of established film franchises when they successfully combine familiar characters with new narrative developments.
As Drishyam 3: The Conclusion continues its theatrical run, attention will remain on its upcoming box-office milestones and whether it can maintain collections in the coming weeks.
For Ajay Devgn, the film represents another successful chapter in a franchise that has established a distinctive place in contemporary Hindi cinema.
