RAMBAN, MAY 26: Drug Control Officer (DCO), Ramban, Imtiyaz Ahmed today carried out an extensive inspection at a far-flung area of Ukhral in district Ramban.
During the inspection of various medical shops in Ukhral and adjoining areas, the Drug Inspector sealed 1 medical store during spot visit for violation of various provisions of Drugs and Cosmetic Rules 1945
Statutory drug samples of 2 drug formulations were lifted from the market for determining the strength and purity. These samples will be referred to the Drug Testing Laboratory for framing legal opinions to ascertain their quality parameters.
He also impressed upon the chemist fraternity to follow the provisions of Drugs and Cosmetic Act and rules there under in letter and spirit failing which the department shall be constrained to initiate action against the violators.
The Drug Inspector urged the people of such areas to co-operate and keep eye on such persons/Medical Stores who they can find as drug peddlers and selling the intoxicating drugs to the youth and young generation. Meanwhile the Phone and WhatsApp numbers have also been shared with the people so as to make contact any time to deal with such unethical trade practices.
