Tremors felt around Pattan area at dawn; no damage or casualties reported
SRINAGAR, Feb 2: An earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale was recorded in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district early Monday morning, officials confirmed.
According to authorities, the seismic activity occurred at around 5:35 am, with the epicentre located near the Pattan region. Mild tremors were felt in surrounding areas, prompting residents to rush outdoors in some localities.
Officials said there have been no immediate reports of loss of life or property damage, and the situation remains under control. Further monitoring is underway to assess any aftershocks.
