E&C centre Jammu benefits over 400 college students through E-Counselling sessions
The E-Counselling sessions being organised by District Employment & Counselling Centre Jammu have benefitted around 400 college students by providing a wide ranging knowledge about various career opportunities available in the Job market.
JAMMU, JANUARY 09: The E-Counselling sessions being organised by District Employment & Counselling Centre Jammu have benefitted around 400 college students by providing a wide-ranging knowledge about various career opportunities available in the Job market.
A series of E-Counselling Sessions are being organised in collaboration with the Counselling cell of the Higher Education Department for various Degree Colleges of Jammu District.
Till now, four successful events have been held with an overwhelming response from the students of GGM Science College, GWC Gandhi Nagar, GCW Parade and SPMR College of Commerce.
The Maiden Session conducted on 6 January was also attended by Director Employment, M.S. Choudhary.
The E-Counselling sessions held on 6th and 7th January were held under the aegis of Principals of the Colleges & Deputy Director Employment, Dr. Manisha Koul. The sessions were coordinated by Nodal officers for Career Counselling in the Colleges along with the team of DECC, Jammu.
A wide range of topics was covered in these sessions. The resource person from DECC, Jammu, Dushyant Singh, Career Counselling Officer talked about ‘Employment Scenario in J&K and the way forward’, Mr. Gaurav Kapoor, Digital Partner, Indian Institute of E-Commerce talked about Upcoming Trends & Opportunities in E-Commerce. Ms. Shivali Choudhary, Employment Officer, DECC Jammu, focused on ‘The Role of Psychometric Tests in choosing the right Career’ & Stress Management among Students
Around 400 Students participated in these sessions along with officer/officials of the Employment Department. In month-long programme students of various colleges of Jammu District will be counselled on a wide range of topics like Significance of Skill Development, Self-Employment Schemes, Emerging trends in the job market, Scholarship schemes, Psychometric tests, National Career Service Portal etc. Amid the existing scenario, Employment Department has revamped the Counselling programme to online medium for ensuring maximum benefit of the students and in this exercise, DECC Jammu has reached a range of government and private schools via e-counselling
