Emergence of AAP, a turning point in the political history of J&K: Harsh Dev

Several senior leaders of NPP including District Presidents Join Aam Aadmi Party

Jammu, 29-05-2022: Having experimented with various traditional parties, both national and regional, the people of J&K were a disappointed lot desperately seeking a change in the political landscape of the erstwhile state. Their disenchantment with such parties was conspicuously manifesting itself in the ever-increasing number of political activists, professionals, women and youth joining Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) which had emerged as the only a ray of hope in the UT. The revolutionary moves of AAP in Delhi and Punjab had once again revived the people’s faith in the political system with common masses awaiting the much-needed change in J&K as well. The gigantic emergence of AAP would prove a turning point in the political history of J&K”. This was stated by Mr. Harsh Dev Singh, Former Minister and senior AAP leader. He was addressing a press conference after holding a Party function in the Head Office Jammu wherein dozens of senior leaders of NPP including its District Presidents joined Aam Aadmi Party.

“Not only had the AAP revolutionized the Education and Health sector in Delhi but had also set an example of moral propriety of the highest order by sacking one of its own ministers in Punjab. It’s the policy of free power and drinking water that had earned it massive support not only in the states ruled by it but also across the nation. The new scholarship scheme announced by the Kejriwal govt in Delhi for the children of labourers had received nationwide acclaim. The party believed in the upliftment of the poor, downtrodden and common masses who had been disregarded and neglected by successive govts in the past. The meteoric rise of the party was the outcome of the pro-people policies pursued by it and its focussed attention on mitigating the sufferings of the common man”, asserted Mr. Singh.

Mr. Yash Paul Kundal, Former Minister and senior AAP leader urged upon the new entrants to contribute their might for strengthening the Party in J&K. He expressed the hope that people’s growing support for AAP would surely catapult it as the largest party of J&K in the coming times.

Prominent among those who joined the AAP today included Sheikh Imtiyaz Bashir (District President NPP Kishtwar), Mushtaq Ahmed Choudhary (District President NPP Rajouri), Rampaul Bhagat (District President NPP Udhampur), Balbir Singh Anthal (Provincial Vice President NPP Jammu), Shiv Dev Singh (Provincial General Secretary NPP), Sagar Dev Singh (Provincial Organizing Secretary NPP), Madan Lal Sharma (Retired ZEO & District Vice President NPP Udhampur), Onkar Singh (District Secretary NPP Udhampur), Mohd Hanief Sheikh (District Coordinator/Spokesperson NPP Kishtwar), Haji Ghulam Rather (District General Secretary NPP Kishtwar), Ghulam Hussain (District Zonal President NPP Kishtwar), Mohd Shafi Lone (District Secretary NPP Kishtwar), Mohd Ishaq (District Block President Bujooa NPP Kishtwar), Mohd Asgar Baig (District Block President Kahra NPP Kishtwar), Javid Iqbal Butt (District Block President Drabshalla NPP Kishtwar), Adv.
