Europa League: Forest and Villa Shine with Convincing Wins; Roma Edge Out Opponents

English clubs shine as Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa dominate; Roma secure narrow home victory

India, Nov 28 : Nottingham Forest continued their Europa League resurgence with a commanding 3-0 win over Malmo FF, marking their third straight victory in the competition. Captain Ryan Yates, Arnaud Kalimuendo, and Nikola Milenkovic were on target at the City Ground, leaving Malmo with just one point. Yates opened the scoring in the 27th minute, Kalimuendo doubled the lead before halftime, and Milenkovic added a third shortly after the break. Callum Hudson-Odoi also struck the crossbar as Forest extended their unbeaten run to five matches across all competitions and climbed to eighth in the group standings.

Aston Villa secured a 2-1 victory over Young Boys, with Dutch forward Donyell Malen scoring a brilliant double. Malen’s first came via a header deflected off the post, and his second was a powerful strike into the top corner. Joel Monteiro’s late goal for Young Boys wasn’t enough to force a comeback.

Roma edged Midtjylland 2-1 at home, with Neil El Aynaoui scoring his first goal for the Italian side, securing their first home win in the tournament. Meanwhile, Celtic overcame Feyenoord in a thrilling rematch of the 1970 UEFA European Cup final, thanks to goals from Hyunjun Yang, Reo Hatate, and Benjamin Nygren.

The latest round highlighted strong performances from English clubs as they continue to assert themselves in the Europa League group stages.
