Former J&K CM Farooq Abdullah mourns Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar, calls his death an “irreparable loss” for the nation

Jammu, Jan 28: National Conference president Farooq Abdullah expressed deep sorrow over the death of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar in a plane crash on Wednesday, describing the loss as profound for both the state and the country.

Speaking to reporters, Abdullah said, “The news about Pawar’s death is heartbreaking. He was a great son of Maharashtra who worked sincerely to transform the state. His passing has left me deeply saddened.”

Abdullah lauded Pawar’s political legacy, stating that his contributions will never be forgotten. “Today, India has lost one of its great sons. No one has power over the will of Allah. He was on his way to Pune for election preparations, but fate did not favour him. His death is an irreparable loss not only to the Pawar family but to the entire nation,” he added.

Extending condolences to Sharad Pawar and other family members, Abdullah prayed for the departed soul and wished the family strength to bear the loss.

Ajit Pawar, 66, along with four others, died when a private aircraft carrying them crashed while attempting an emergency landing near his hometown of Baramati in Pune district on Wednesday morning. The Nationalist Congress Party leader had been travelling from Mumbai to Baramati to address rallies ahead of the February 5 zilla parishad elections.
