Farooq Abdullah Slams US-Israel Strikes on Iran, Calls for Respect of Sovereignty

Farooq Abdullah Condemns US-Israel Military Strikes on Iran

J&k, Mar 05 : Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister and National Conference president Farooq Abdullah on Thursday strongly criticised the recent joint US-Israel military strikes on Iran, saying no nation has the right to impose control over another through force. He emphasised that sovereign states must respect international norms and sovereignty, adding that such actions could have far reaching consequences for global peace.

Speaking to reporters in Katra, Jammu, Abdullah called Iran an independent nation and said the attacks were “wrong” and unjustified. He warned that the ongoing conflict could escalate beyond the region and potentially trigger a larger global confrontation if not handled responsibly.

Highlighting the broader impact of the strikes, Abdullah noted there was widespread anger among Muslim communities, but urged that protests remain peaceful and lawful. Protests in parts of the Kashmir Valley over the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, have already taken place in recent days.

He also urged the Union government to clearly articulate India’s position on the escalating crisis, stressing that the situation demands careful diplomatic engagement and clarity from national leadership
