Farooq Khan reviews working of Tribal Affairs department

JAMMU, DECEMBER 10: A review meeting of the Tribal Affairs Department was today held under the chairmanship of Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Farooq Khan.
Advisor Khan had a detailed assessment of the functioning of the department with an emphasis on the status of welfare measures being implemented for the welfare of the tribal populace of Jammu and Kashmir.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Tribal Affairs, Rehana Batul; Director Tribal Affairs, J&K, Mohammad Saleem, and other officers of the department.
Advisor reviewed various schemes being implemented for socio-economic empowerment of this population by the department including scholarships, construction of Eklavya Model Residential Schools, tribal hostels, providing of livelihood and skill development of individuals of the community members.
The meeting discussed in detail the development of Cluster Tribal Model Villages, establishment of milk villages and milk chilling plants, providing of electricity, creation of tribal infrastructure, construction of pucca houses for tribal families, and construction of community halls for them.
