Fatal Bus Accident in Himachal Pradesh’s Shimla District: Four Dead, Including Driver and Conductor, After Bus Overturns and Falls into Gorge

Shimla, 21-06-2024 : In a tragic accident on Friday, four individuals, including the driver and conductor of a Himachal Pradesh Road and Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus, lost their lives when the bus fell into a gorge in Shimla district. The incident occurred in the Kenchi area of Jubbal while the bus was en route from Kuddu to Diltari in the Rohru area of Shimla district.

The mishap happened at approximately 6:45 am when the bus overturned on the road and subsequently plunged into the gorge below. According to Rohan Chand Thakur, Managing Director of HRTC, there were a total of seven people on board: five passengers along with the driver and conductor. Three injured individuals have been admitted to a local hospital in Rohru.

Tragically, two people died at the scene, while the driver and conductor succumbed to their injuries on the way to the hospital. The deceased have been identified as Karam Dass (driver), Rakesh Kumar (conductor), Birma Devi, and Dhan Shah, a resident of Nepal.

The injured passengers have been identified as Jiyender Rangta, Deepika, and Hast Bahadur.
