Jammu, September 19: FICCI FLO Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh (JKL), in collaboration with J&K Police and powered by Munjal Auto, today announced the third edition of the much-awaited Half Marathon 3.0, scheduled to be held on October 5, 2025. The marathon will flag off from Gulshan Ground, Jammu, at 5:30 AM and is expected to draw enthusiastic participation from citizens across the Union Territory.
Addressing a press conference, Ms. Aarti Chowdhary, Chairperson FICCI FLO JKL, highlighted the vision behind organizing the event. She said that the marathon is not just a sporting activity, but also a social campaign aimed at promoting health, fitness, and spreading awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse.
“Drug addiction is a grave challenge facing our youth today. It destroys not only individuals but also families and communities. With this marathon, we want to channel the energy of our young people into something positive and inspire them to make the right choices in life. Our motto is simple but powerful—‘Say No to Drugs and Yes to Life,’” she emphasized.
Ms. Aarti Chowdhary added that fitness-oriented activities such as marathons play a crucial role in bringing communities together and creating a sense of collective responsibility. “When people run together for a cause, they become part of a movement that is larger than themselves. That is what we want to achieve with Half Marathon 3.0,” she said.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sudhir Anand, Race Director, reiterated that the marathon symbolizes discipline, commitment, and unity of purpose. “This is not just a race; it is a message. Every step taken by the participants will be a step towards building a drug-free society. We urge the youth to come forward in large numbers and also call upon parents, teachers, and civil society members to encourage participation. Together, we can fight this menace and build a healthier, stronger future,” he stated.
Kanupriya Garg, Event Director of Half Marathon 3.0, also emphasized the importance of family support in addressing the challenge of drug abuse. She said, “Families must come together as one unit and work collectively towards the growth and well-being of children. When parents, siblings, and guardians actively engage with the younger generation, it helps them resist negative influences and overcome the social stigma associated with drug addiction. This marathon is also a reminder that the fight against drugs begins at home, with families standing united for a brighter future.”
