FIR Against Pahalgam Hotel for Concealing Stay of Foreign Tourists: Police

Police flag violation after 23 overseas visitors’ stay went unreported in Anantnag

ANANTNAG, March 23: Jammu and Kashmir Police have registered a case against a hotel in Pahalgam for allegedly concealing the stay of foreign nationals and violating mandatory reporting regulations.

The action followed a routine inspection in the Dehwatoo area, where officials discovered that 23 foreign tourists, including 19 British citizens, had checked into a hotel in Laddi on March 22 without proper intimation to authorities.

According to police, the hotel management failed to notify Police Station Pahalgam and did not submit the required Form ‘C’, a mandatory document under the Foreigners and Immigration Act, 2025 for tracking foreign visitors.

An FIR (No. 18/2026) has been registered, and an investigation is underway to determine the extent of the violation and any potential security implications.

District Police Anantnag have reiterated the importance of strict compliance with legal protocols, urging hotel operators to promptly report the arrival of foreign guests to avoid legal action.
