Popular science-based fitness educator and YouTuber remembered for her research background and influential “All-In” experiment

US, Mar 07 : The global fitness community is mourning the death of well-known fitness educator and YouTuber Stephanie Buttermore, who passed away at the age of 36.

The news was confirmed on March 6 by her longtime partner, Canadian fitness creator Jeff Nippard, who shared the announcement in an emotional message on social media. In the statement, he described the loss as deeply painful and asked for privacy as family and loved ones cope with the tragedy.

Partner shares emotional announcement

In his message, Nippard referred to Buttermore as his fiancée and partner of nearly ten years, saying she meant “the world” to him. The couple had been together for about a decade and got engaged in October 2022 after building a strong presence together within the online fitness and bodybuilding community.

As of now, the cause of her death has not been publicly disclosed.

Scientist turned fitness educator

Buttermore was widely admired for combining academic research with practical fitness advice. She held a PhD in pathology and cell biology from the University of South Florida and also earned multiple degrees in biomedical sciences.

Her doctoral work focused on studying molecular mechanisms related to ovarian cancer, particularly exploring biomarkers that could help improve early detection methods.

Influence in the fitness world

Beyond her academic achievements, Buttermore gained global recognition through her educational fitness content. Her YouTube channel attracted more than one million subscribers, while her Instagram account had over half a million followers.

She became especially known for her widely discussed “All-In” experiment, where she documented the process of stopping restrictive dieting in order to allow the body to naturally regulate its weight. The series sparked extensive discussion around metabolism, hormonal balance and the psychological impact of dieting.

Stepped away from social media

In recent years, Buttermore had largely stepped back from public platforms. Her last Instagram updates in 2024 explained that she was taking a break due to severe anxiety and the pressures associated with social media.

In that message, she described the experience as overwhelming but said stepping away had helped her focus on her mental well-being and daily life.

Her long absence from content creation had already raised questions among followers before the news of her passing was confirmed.
