Focusing on Statehood and Democratic Process Restoration Tops My Agenda: Ghulam Ahmad Mir

21-08-2023 : In the aftermath of his induction into the Congress Working Committee (CWC), Ghulam Ahmad Mir, former President of the J&K Pradesh Congress Committee, emphasized that the restoration of statehood and the democratic process holds a paramount position among his priorities. Mir’s assertion came during a warm reception he received in South Kashmir, celebrating his inclusion in the highest decision-making body of the Indian National Congress.

Having dedicated over four decades to the Congress Party, Ghulam Ahmad Mir was nominated to the CWC by the High Command on Sunday. The occasion marked a significant recognition of his grassroots dedication and involvement.

Addressing the jubilant gathering, Mir extended his heartfelt gratitude to the Congress High Command. He assured the people of Jammu and Kashmir that his endeavor within the party’s apex decision-making body would consistently echo their aspirations and desires.

Mir commended the Party’s decision to nominate a grassroots worker from a remote area of Jammu and Kashmir to a prominent position within the CWC. He regarded this move as a profound honor, an acknowledgment of his unwavering dedication to the Congress cause.

Ensuring the betterment of the region remains a focal point for Mir. He pledged to address pressing concerns such as rampant unemployment, developmental stagnation, governmental mismanagement, and other issues that resonate with the people. Highlighting his agenda, Mir reiterated that the restoration of statehood and the reinstatement of democratic processes are pivotal objectives that he aims to pursue diligently.
