FOIJ Lauds Centre–UT Coordination on Industrial Reforms, Presses for Equal Incentives for Existing Units

Jammu, 25-11-2025: A meeting of Federation of Industries, Jammu was held under the president ship of its Chairman Sh. Virendra Jain and attended by its Co-Chairmen S/Sh. Jatinder Aul, S.C. Dutta, Lalit Mahajan, Ajit Bawa, Viraaj Malhotra, Secretary General, Sanjay Langar, Convenor, and other office bearers.

The members of the Federation of Industries extend a heartfelt thanks to the Union Govt. for convening the Apex Committee Meeting next month to discuss the long-awaited uplift of the J&K Industrial Package. Chaired first by Union Home Secretary Sh. Govind Mohan and later by Union Home Minister Sh. Amit Shahji, the meeting brought together Industry & Commerce Minister Sh. Piyush Goyal, Lt. Governor Sh. Manoj Sinhaji and senior officials from the ministries of home, commerce and UT administration.

Key outcomes that will shape the regions’ industrial landscape includes the existing Rs.28400 crore package is proposed to be increased to Rs. 75000 crore, unlocking fresh investment and creating thousands of quality employment,  giving a much needed shot in the arm to upcoming enterprises.

Chairman, FOIJ Sh. Virendra Jain said this is a welcome step for Jammu & Kashmir. The Government’s decisive action not only revise stalled projects but also signals confidence to investors from other states of our country. The FOIJ looks forward to collaborating with all stake holders to ensure the new package translates into a vibrant, inclusive industrial ecosystem across the Union Territory.

FOIJ urge the Govt. to consider the operational incentive under the package for existing Micro/Small industry as well. It will not be out of context to mention here that since J&K is a land locked state having locational disadvantage, Govt. had always provided package of incentive for existing Micro/Small industry at par with the new industry. Equivalent operational incentives such as GST linked incentives etc. shall provide a crucial support to the existing industry which is presently under stress.

FOIJ once again request the DPIIT/MSME department to formulate the operational part of incentives under industrial package for existing industry at par with the new industry so as to provide level playing field for every industry.

FOIJ request the Hon’ble Home Minister Sh. Amit Shahji. Hon’ble Lt. Governor Sh. Manoj Sinhaji, Hon’ble Chief Minster Sh. Omar Abdullahji, Hon’ble Dy. Chief Minister Sh. Surinder Chowdharyji to ensure the package of incentives under NCSS include operational benefits for both new and existing industry as well.

FOIJ earnestly request Dr. Jitender Singh, MOS, PMO to take personal interest to address our issues.
