LEH, Jan 14: Four tourists from Uttar Pradesh, reported missing during their trip to Pangong Lake, have been safely rescued in Ladakh, police officials confirmed.
The tourists Yash Mittal, Shivam Chaudhary, Jaiveer Chaudhary, and Shadanshu Faujdar, all from Agra had lost contact with their families after going missing a few days ago. Authorities launched a swift and coordinated search operation, which led to their safe recovery.
The tourists had traveled to Pangong Lake on January 9 in a private vehicle but mistakenly took the Leh-Manali road, currently closed due to snowfall, while returning to Leh. Their vehicle was later found at the roadside, having met with a minor accident. Search operations were extended to surrounding areas, including Sarchu, Debring, and Whisky Nalla.
The stranded tourists were eventually located in a hut approximately 20 km from their vehicle. They had spent two nights inside their car using its heating system until the fuel ran out.
