Ganesh Infraworld to Launch Rs 105 Crore Water Projects in J&K Starting December: MD

Company set to modernise water management in Srinagar–Budgam region with state-of-the-art treatment plants

New Delhi, Oct 17: Infrastructure firm Ganesh Infraworld will commence two major water and sewerage treatment projects worth Rs 105.77 crore in Jammu & Kashmir from December 2025, the company’s Managing Director, Vibhoar Agrawal, announced.

These projects are part of the government’s broader initiative to upgrade water management and sewage infrastructure in the Union Territory, especially in the rapidly urbanising Srinagar–Budgam region, where rising pollution levels in local water bodies have become a growing concern.

“We are awaiting final approvals, expected shortly, and plan to begin work on the two water and sewerage treatment projects from December this year,” Agrawal said.

The projects, awarded on a turnkey basis, include complete survey, design, and construction of modern sewerage treatment plants along the Doodh-Ganga Nallah, along with five years of operations and maintenance. The initiative aims to restore the ecological health of this crucial tributary while tackling longstanding wastewater management challenges.

The two projects cover the Baghi-Mehtab to Allochi Bagh stretch, valued at Rs 44.07 crore, and the Chadoora to Baghi-Mehtab stretch, worth Rs 61.70 crore.

Agrawal highlighted logistical and climatic challenges in the region but emphasised the importance of these projects from an infrastructure and environmental perspective.

Kolkata-based Ganesh Infraworld specialises in civil and electrical, road and rail, and water infrastructure projects, making it a key player in J&K’s development efforts.
