GDC Dudu BasantGarh Celebrated celebrated Jashan-e-Urdu

09-11-2021: Government Degree College Dudu BasantGarh celebrated Jashan-e-Urdu on the occasion of World Urdu and  Iqbal day. The college organized a symposium on this occasion. Students of the College participated in the event with great enthusiasm and shared their views on the world-famous poet Allama Iqbal. The program was organized by the Department of Urdu of the College under the guidance of the Principal of the College Dr. Bhavnaish Chand.

Speaking on the occasion Dr.P.P.Singh HOD Urdu stated that while we all have read Iqbal in our early schooling or heard about Allama but it is unfortunate that we are unaware of his poetry and his contribution towards the nation, like Tarana Hindi which was written in1904. Explicitly a patriotic song and has become one of the most popular songs of India.

saare jahāñ se achchhā hindostāñ hamārā

ham bulbuleñ haiñ is kī ye gulsitāñ hamārā

Iqbal was not only a poet but also a philosopher and revolutionary. The lessons and messages that he pens down through his poetry are not limited to a few sections of society but to the entire humanity.

The first position was bagged by Surjeet Kumar, Second position was clinched by Shabnam while Rabia Sultana got the third position. A consolation prize was given to Nadeem Hussain. The vote of thanks was presented by Prof Pradeep Kumar.
