GDC Dudu Basantgarh Rings in International Youth Day by Engaging Students in a Symposium on Drug Abuse Prevention

12-08-2023 : In the serene and spirited atmosphere of GDC Dudu Basantgarh, a significant event unfolded as International Youth Day was celebrated with fervor and enthusiasm. The theme chosen for this commemoration was the pivotal role that the youth plays in combatting the growing menace of drug abuse. The occasion saw the college students embracing the spirit of the day with great zeal, highlighting their commitment to addressing this pressing social issue.

The celebration took form through various engaging activities, with a symposium being a centerpiece of the event. Five exceptional students were chosen to partake in the symposium, wherein they eloquently presented their insightful suggestions and perspectives on curbing the detrimental impact of drug abuse on society. Their ideas and viewpoints served as a testament to the intellect, awareness, and concern that the youth of the college held for the betterment of their community.

Professor Anirudh Sharma, a beacon of inspiration, graced the gathering with his address. In his enlightening speech, he urged the students to harness their boundless energies towards constructive endeavors that would contribute to the growth and advancement of the nation. He invoked the revered ideals of Swami Vivekananda, encouraging the students to emulate his teachings and take on an active role in eradicating the social ills that plague society. Professor Sharma passionately emphasized the importance of hard work and dedication in shaping a brighter future, both for themselves and for the nation at large.

Joining in the discourse, Professor Rahul Sharma also shared his insights on the occasion. The collective wisdom shared by the academic stalwarts illuminated the path for the youth, guiding them towards becoming responsible and conscientious citizens.

The highlight of the event was the recognition bestowed upon the participants who excelled in expressing their thoughts during the symposium. Ranjeet Singh, a student from the 5th semester, secured the prestigious first prize for his remarkable contribution. Saloni Devi and Santoshi Devi, representing the 3rd and 5th semesters respectively, shared the honor of the second and third positions.

To bring the event to a gracious close, Professor Pradeep Kumar extended a heartfelt vote of thanks to all those who had made the celebration of International Youth Day a grand success.
