09-08-2023 : Ghulam Nabi Azad Shifts Focus to Local Politics, Aims to Transform Doda District Democratic Progressive Azad Party leader and former J&K chief minister, Ghulam Nabi Azad, expressed his disappointment over the neglect faced by the erstwhile Doda district under successive governments. Speaking during his extended tour of the region, Azad emphasized that his decision to step away from national politics and focus on his people was driven by his desire to serve them more effectively.

In his address at Khilani in the Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir, Azad highlighted that the impact of his work as a former chief minister and Union Health minister is evident on the ground. He underscored the significance of visionary leadership and how he carries that vision for the betterment of his constituents. Azad acknowledged that traditional politics has been rejected by the people who are now more aware of their rights.

Azad’s return to Jammu and Kashmir is fueled by his determination to alleviate the challenges faced by the locals and propel the Union Territory into one of the world’s leading economies. He noted that much of the economic potential of the region remains untapped due to the rugged and diverse geographical terrain. He particularly emphasized the untapped potential in Doda district, envisioning it as a job creator for the local youth if harnessed appropriately. Promising economic prosperity, Azad highlighted Bhaderwah’s potential to become a hub of economic activities, drawing parallels to Kashmir’s tourism-driven growth.

During his address, Azad highlighted the cinematic allure of Bhaderwah, which has captured the attention of Bollywood filmmakers alongside Kashmir. He addressed public gatherings at Pranu, Khilani, and Bhaderwah, engaging with a considerable audience. Many individuals joined the Democratic Progressive Azad Party during these gatherings, pledging to uphold the party’s pro-people agenda.

Azad stressed that times have changed, and people are no longer content with token gestures and favors. They seek meaningful change and are placing their hopes on the Democratic Progressive Azad Party, which values talent, hard work, and integrity in its approach.
