G&M department Samba enforces restriction on extraction of minor mineral in rainy season

SAMBA, JULY 27: The Geology & Mining Department Samba today destroyed a huge dump of sand that was illegally extracted and dumped near the river bed (Basantar upstream).

This action comes keeping in view the restrictions imposed on the mining of minor minerals during the rainy season and to discourage the illegal extraction, transportation and dumping of minerals without permission.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Departmental Team during late-night raids, seized three dumpers in different parts of Samba. The enforcement drive will continue in the future as the district administration has adopted a zero-tolerance policy against illegal mining in the district.
