British national Surinder Kumar Khosla fled to UK after December 6 Arpora fire that killed 25 authorities move to bring him back
Panaji, Dec 20: Goa Police have begun the process to secure a Blue Corner Notice against British national Surinder Kumar Khosla, an accused in the December 6 Arpora nightclub fire that claimed 25 lives, a senior officer said on Saturday.
Khosla, believed to be one of the owners of ‘Birch by Romeo Lane’ nightclub, was in Goa during the incident but fled to the UK, likely the following day. Authorities are coordinating with Central agencies to complete the formalities necessary to bring him back to India.
The land where the nightclub was constructed had been leased to Khosla, who is involved in a prolonged legal dispute with the original landowner, Pradeep Ghadi Amonkar.
So far, Goa Police have arrested eight people, including the nightclub owners Saurabh Luthra, Gaurav Luthra, and Ajay Gupta, along with five others connected to the case.
The move to issue a Blue Corner Notice underscores the police’s efforts to hold all responsible parties accountable in the tragic fire incident.
