Godse killed Gandhi physically, Modi Govt. killed the soul of Gandhi – Surinder Rajput
Modi Govt. used Agencies against Gandhi’s, opposition for vendetta politics – AICC
Jammu, December 20 : AICC Spokesperson Shri Surinder Singh Rajput has blamed Modi Govt. for killing the soul of Mahatma Gandhi by replacing his name and repealing MGNREGA scheme, as BJP can’t tolerate his ideology to flourish in the country.
Addressing a press conference at PCC HQ here today along with Working President Raman Bhalla, Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma, I/C PCC HQ Ved Mahajan and others, Shri Rajput said that Godse killed Mahatma Gandhi’s body by firing bullets but Modi led BJP Govt. killed his soul, as they are against the ideology of Mahatma Gandhi and have .insulted the father of nation by this shameful act.
He said that MGNREGA was the most revolutionary legislation in the country post independence which guaranteed right to work to the labour class and by repeating this scheme there by trampling upon the right of 12 crore NREGA workers besides destroying the basic concept and vision of Gandhi Ji that i.e
Gram Swaraj, dignity of labours and decentralize development in rural areas .
He said that Prime Minister Modi has been deeply hostile to MG NREGA since 2014 and during the past 11 years Modi Govt. has systematically weakened and sabotaged this scheme by withholding mandated funds , deleting job cards and excluding around seven crore workers through Adhar based payment compulsion . Instead of providing 100 days of work under MGNREGA , it was reduced to barely 50-55 days work per year over the past 5 years.
Rjaput said the new framework has reduced the scheme to a conditional one and centrally controlled and instead of 100 percent fully centrally funded under MGNREGA, the Modi Govt. has now forced the burden of 40 percent cast on the state governments and thus once the funds run out are during harvest season the workers can be denied employment for months together. Instead of Gram Sabhas and Panchayats who used to exercise powers under MGNREGA , the same are being snatched away and handed over to centyralized digital command system, GIS maping , PM Gati Shakti layers, Biomatrics dashboards and algorithmic surveillance . Most dangerously, the demand – driven nature of MGNREGA is being dismantled and replaced with a capped , centrally determined allocation system.
AICC Spokesperson termed this action of Modi Govt. as anti-people anti-workers and anti-federal besides a direct insult to the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi which is bound to devastate India’s youth with record unemployment declaring that congress will oppose it at every forum from Sadak to Sansad.
Hitting hard, the Modi-Shah’s vendetta politics against the congress leadership of Smt. Sonia Gandhi and Shri Rahul Gandhi, the AICC Spokesperson said that the recent dismissal of the politically motivated case by the Hon’ble court , the National Herald matter has come a s a huge blow and humiliation to them when the court did not even find proper to take cognizance in the matter.
Rattled by the Congress party’s relentless exposer of Modi-Shah Govt. on the numerous fronts in the past 11 years, they rested to weaponsing investigative agencies , one after the other, as tools of political intimidation against the CPP Chairperson Smt. Sonia Gandhi and LOP Shri Rahul Gandhi given by personal hatred.
He said that special court has categorically questioned and pulled up the ED for initiating a money laundering investigation in 2021 after arbitrarily reversing its own earlier stand in the national herald case.
The court has held that the ED’s action announced to a “unilateral overreach” of another law-enforcement agency, namely the CBI, and described it as a ill-advised attempt to outpace the very framework of the PMLA.
He said that this verdict lays bare the BJP’s criminal misuse of institution exposing how the state power is being cynically deployed to settle personal scores. For years Modi – Shah regime has unleashed the ED , CBI and Income Tax departments against the Gandhi family yet despite a rentless pressure, the congress party and leaders have not bend because they stand with the truth. No amount of intimidation can silence the truth and no misuse of power can defeat justice , he added.
The senior congress leaders also reminded that it was on this day 37 years ago that a historic decision was taken by the then Prime Minister Shri Rajiv Gandhi to lower the age of voting right from 21 years to 18 years of the youth of the country.
On the issue of restoration statehood the AICC spokesperson said that it is the right of every citizen of J&K which is being kept withheld arbitrarily illegally and unconstitutionally by the BJP Govt. and said that congress party shal intensify the struggle in this regard and JKPCC has the full backing of the congress leadership for their just demands.
Former PCC General Secretary Suresh Dogra, Chief Media-coordinator Neeraj Gupta and Former Corporator Dwarka Choudhary were also present in the press conference.
