Spot gold dropped 0.2% to $4,084.29 per ounce, while U.S. December gold futures rose 0.9% to $4,100.90 per ounce. The dollar index edged up 0.2%, making gold more expensive for investors holding other currencies.

Outlook:

Analysts note that while short-term fluctuations persist, long-term support for gold remains strong due to central bank purchases, geopolitical risks, and expectations of future interest rate cuts. Traders are keeping a close watch on U.S. economic data and global trade negotiations for the next directional cues.

This year, gold has surged around 56%, driven by central bank buying and safe-haven demand, though recent corrections reflect investor focus on macroeconomic developments like inflation trends and monetary policy signals.
