Govt can’t allow bid to ‘uprising’; Kashmir-based parties’ support to accused students unfounded: Kavinder

Jammu,29-11-2023 : Senior BJP leader and former deputy chief minister Kavinder Gupta on Wednesday came in full support of government’s move to invoke UAPA in case of anti-India sloganeering by some students during world cup final in SKUAST-K campus asserting that the dispensation cannot allow bids to revolts and rebellion.
In a statement issued to media persons, the BJP stalwart said that Kashmir-based parties including the NC and PDP’s support to the accused students is totally unfounded as they have no locus standi to stand for those who are showing disinclination towards motherland as their actions speak louder than words that they don’t respect the law of the land and the mannerism they have exhibited is an open challenge to the integrity and sovereignty of the country.
Kavinder called upon the government to take stern action against those who engage in such anti-national activities.
“The party has consistently maintained that it will not tolerate any form of anti-India activity, and that it is prepared to take tough measures to safeguard the nation’s unity and integrity,” he added.
