Mumbai, Mar 08 : Filmmaker Hansal Mehta has applauded the performances in the recently released film Subedaar, particularly praising actress Radhikka Madan for her powerful portrayal in the project.
The movie, directed by Suresh Triveni, has drawn attention for its intense narrative and layered characters. Mehta described the film as a refreshing take on mainstream cinema and highlighted its writing and performances for adding emotional depth to the story.
According to reports, Mehta had special appreciation for Madan, who plays Shyama, the daughter of the protagonist. He said the actress delivered a compelling performance by portraying the emotional complexity of a strong yet vulnerable character. The filmmaker also remarked that Madan deserves more substantial roles and greater opportunities within the industry.
The film centres on Subedaar Arjun Maurya, a retired soldier navigating a challenging social landscape while dealing with a strained relationship with his daughter. The role of Arjun is played by Anil Kapoor.
The project has also received praise from Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who shared his appreciation on social media for the ensemble cast and the film’s director.
Alongside Kapoor and Madan, the cast includes Aditya Rawal, Mona Singh, Faisal Malik and Saurabh Shukla in key roles.
