Harmanpreet Kaur’s Heartfelt Tribute to Her Father on KBC Moves Amitabh Bachchan
Cricket star opens up about her early inspiration and a touching gift from her father on ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’
India, Dec 05 : In the latest episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati, viewers witnessed a deeply emotional moment as India’s Women’s Cricket World Cup winning captain Harmanpreet Kaur opened up about her childhood and the early inspirations that shaped her career. Following the show’s tribute to the world champions, Harmanpreet took a nostalgic turn while speaking with host Amitabh Bachchan.
She recalled a touching gesture from her father that left a lasting mark on her life. Sharing the story behind a tiny T-shirt her father had stitched for her, Harmanpreet said it had the words “Good Batting” carefully written across it.
“The day I was born, my father was at work, and he received a message that my mother had been taken to the hospital. When I first wore those clothes, no one noticed anything special,” she said. “Years later, after I began playing for India, my mother found them while we were shifting houses and said, ‘Let me show you what you wore on your first day.’ That’s when I saw the shirt with ‘Good Batting’ written on it.”
The heartfelt revelation moved Amitabh Bachchan, who asked her what first inspired her to take up cricket. Harmanpreet credited her school principal for spotting her talent and creating opportunities at the right time.
“One day, my principal saw me playing and told me that the school had many sports but no girls’ cricket team. He said, ‘If you join, I will create a team because we have girls who play other sports.’ That’s how I got my chance to play in the girls’ cricket team,” she shared with a smile.
Harmanpreet’s emotional reflections turned the KBC episode into one of the season’s most memorable and heartwarming segments.
