Himachal Statehood Day: President Murmu, PM Modi Hope for Golden Future
Leaders hail the state’s culture, valour and contribution to nation-building on its 54th Statehood Day.
NEW DELHI, Jan 25: President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday extended greetings to the people of Himachal Pradesh on the occasion of the state’s Statehood Day, praising its rich traditions, cultural heritage and spirit of valour.
Himachal Pradesh observes its Statehood Day annually on January 25, marking its elevation as the 18th state of the Indian Union in 1971 after earlier phases as a union territory and subsequent territorial expansion.
In a message shared on X, President Murmu described Himachal Pradesh as a land blessed with spiritual heritage and natural beauty, expressing confidence that its hardworking people would continue to contribute significantly to national development and security. She conveyed her best wishes for a prosperous future for the state and its residents.
Prime Minister Modi also greeted the people of the hill state, highlighting Himachal Pradesh as a confluence of nature and culture. He lauded the talent and bravery of its citizens and wished them continued progress and prosperity.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah joined in the greetings, expressing hope that the state would keep advancing on the path of development while preserving its cultural and spiritual identity.
Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda, who hails from Himachal Pradesh, also extended his wishes, emphasising the state’s civilisational heritage, natural splendour and steady march towards growth and prosperity.
