New Delhi, March 31: The Government of India has appointed Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer Nidhi Tewari as the Private Secretary to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as per an official order issued by the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances, and Pensions.
Tewari, a 2014-batch IFS officer, has been serving as Deputy Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO). Her new appointment has been approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet and will be on a co-terminus basis, meaning she will hold the position for the duration of the Prime Minister’s tenure.
This appointment underscores the government’s trust in her capabilities and experience in handling high-level administrative and diplomatic responsibilities. As Private Secretary to the Prime Minister, Tewari will play a crucial role in assisting and coordinating various official matters within the PMO. Her extensive experience in foreign affairs and administration is expected to contribute significantly to the smooth functioning of the office.
