India, May 05 : India announced a major expansion of renewable energy infrastructure on May 4, 2026, as the government approved several large-scale solar and wind projects across multiple states. Officials said the initiative is aimed at reducing carbon emissions while strengthening long-term energy security.
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy confirmed that new projects in Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Tamil Nadu will significantly increase India’s renewable generation capacity over the next three years.
Investment and Employment Opportunities
Authorities expect the projects to attract billions in domestic and foreign investment. Thousands of new jobs are also expected to be created in construction, engineering, and green technology sectors.
